Charangoa has opened for Cuba’s famous band “Los Van Van” and has Back up Cachao. Keep the Music alive were the instruction for the 80-something year old Cuban flutist/composer Richard Euges gave Fay on her first trip to cuba. Richard was the legendary flutist of Orquesta Aragon and composer of the most famous Chachacha " El Bodeguero".

El grupo empezó realizando covers en español de temas en inglés hacia el año 1965, firmando desde un inicio para la compañía discográfica Peerless. Empezaron en Tijuana, Baja California, México pero se radicaron todo su tiempo en Guadalajara, Jalisco, México.
De aquella época se recuendan mucho canciones como su versión al español de "Penny Lane" y el tema titulado "Sufrirás sin Mi" adaptación a la canción "Es sólo Amor", ambas composiciones de The Beatles.
